CUBS

Do Your Best

7 – 11 Years Old

The two 1st Bryanston Cub Packs are tailor-made for our spirited boys and girls aged 7 to 10. In the Cubs programme, young explorers embark on an adventurous Scouting journey filled with exciting challenges, camaraderie, and personal growth.

Cubs dive into a world of discovery where they learn essential life skills and form lasting friendships. Weekly programmes are built around games, fun, and learning—blending outdoor adventures with hands-on projects that foster teamwork, confidence, and a sense of responsibility.

The Cub programme is inspired by The Jungle Book, the timeless novel by Rudyard Kipling. Children relate to the story’s characters and jungle animals, and the Pack’s adult leaders take on names from the tale—most notably, the Pack Scouter is known as Akela. This familiar and imaginative theme creates a playful yet structured environment where Cubs feel at home.

As they progress, Cubs follow the Cub Trail, earning badges through three advancement levels: Silver Wolf, Gold Wolf, and finally Leaping Wolf.

They also earn a wide range of Interest Badges for activities such as swimming, model-making, animal care, first aid, and more. Upon turning 11, Cubs receive the Link Badge, marking their transition to the Scout Troop.

From the age of 8, Cubs begin camping—an exciting milestone that introduces them to the joys of outdoor living. Whether it’s sleeping under the stars, mastering new skills, or competing in friendly challenges with other Cub Packs, every experience is designed to build resilience, leadership, and a love for nature.

Led by dedicated and experienced Scouters, our Cubs are encouraged to embrace curiosity, face challenges with enthusiasm, and grow into confident, capable individuals. The Cubs programme lays a strong foundation for the Scouting journey ahead—where fun, learning, and adventure go hand in hand.
